How To Find The Cheapest Flight Available

There is a number of different ways to search for cheap flights online and some tend to be better than others. As far as websites go there are three basic types; the fist is the aggregator, they check for flights on many different airlines. These sites don’t charge a fee but base their money making on on-site advertising and hotel deals. Typically these types of sites are your best bet for a cheap ticket. There are also traditional booking engines like expedia.com, they check different websites and more often than not take a small fee from you when you book a flight.
.
You can also search a more old fashioned way by going directly to an airline’s own website. This tends to be helpful if you are looking for a flight through a booking engine and if the flight is the same price you avoid having to pay the extra fee. While there is really no one way to go about finding the best deal all the time using a combination of these three sites will usually get you a rate you can live with.
.
The easiest way to start would be with an aggregator. Once you have entered your information you can then tweak your trip a bit to get a better deal. By using the sidebar on most of these sites you can try out different days and times to fly. You can also check to see if there are nearby airports whose tickets would be cheaper. Sometimes if you can break up your trip into two one-way tickets it can total out to be slightly cheaper than a roundtrip price.
.
Since travel is expensive and the industry is big, there can be a lot of ways to get involved. Most sites will ask if you want to receive newsletters. Often they don’t pertain to what you are looking for but sometimes they can be a big help. One more thing to keep in mind is this. If you find a flight that fits what you’re looking for booking it at that time is always best. You will often find if you go back a few days later that the price has changed and at that point there is really nothing you can do. While ticket prices are important always remember to check an airlines policy on baggage, a fifty-dollar checking fee may just swing your decision in a totally different direction.
